Anne-Marie Sylvester, RCC Registered Clinical Counsellor with BCACC | MEd Counselling Psychology, UBC

I work with people navigating a wide range of challenges—from those struggling to get through the day, to those who appear high-functioning but feel stuck or disconnected, or to those striving to optimize performance. Many of my clients live with chronic stress, pain, injury, anxiety, depression, or neurological conditions and are looking for support in managing these challenges and life transitions.

As a former high-performance athlete now living with chronic pain, I bring both clinical and personal insight into how physical health impacts mental health and identity. My therapy is neuroscience-informed and integrates CBT, ACT, EFT, and somatic approaches to support change on both a mental and physiological level. I specialize in the overlap of physical and emotional health, including stress-related conditions, chronic pain, and injury recovery.

My approach is direct, focused, and infused with both warmth and humor. It can feel frustrating to be “doing everything right” and still not feel better. Together, we’ll make sense of what’s happening, resource you with education and tools, and support you in getting unstuck. I believe meaningful change and good living are possible—even when life doesn’t look the way it used to.
